Field Trip to Merry Lea!!

We had such a GREAT time on our field trip to Merry Lea!! Thank you so much to all of our volunteers!:)

Addition Practice!!

A deck of cards, and the Show Me app on our iPads made practicing math facts a little more exciting today!

Apple Cider Tasting!!!

Today we finally got to taste or apple cider. We we compared three types of cider. The first gallon, was the cider we made with Mr. Bailey. The second, was the gallon we made when we were at Merry Lee. And finally, after he tasted the local grocery store. The students compared the three types.  We talked about the similarities and differences of each.

Fun with Fact Families!!

Today we use numbers bonds to practice our fact families. The students enjoyed writing their fact families on their desks! :-) It erases perfectly with an eraser!!:)

Making Apple Cider!!

This morning, first grade was busy at work making apple cider! Mr. Bailey brought in an old fashioned cider press, and students had the opportunity to chop, grind, and press the apples into cider. Now we are excited for a taste!

Word Wall Roll and Write!

We love this fun and simple activity to practice our Word Wall words- simply roll and write!!:)

Apple Smiles!

This was a tasty activity for our Apple Unit today! We loved making apple smiles!

Number Bonds!

Number Bonds are a great way to see how numbers work together. In class, we made "human number bonds" as a fun way to introduce this concept.
